About Lorraine

Lorraine started Iyengar yoga at the age of 16 and first studied with BKS Iyengar in 1986, the same year as she qualified as an Iyengar yoga teacher. Lorraine is fully insured and qualified to Level 3 (formerly Senior Level One). She became an active member of the Iyengar Yoga UK Therapy Committee in 2017. She has been involved in the production of numerous presentations including a sequence to help support recovery from Long Covid https://iyengaryoga.org.uk/covid-19-recovery-a-suggested-yoga-programme/.

She led a team of teachers in a study run by York university in 2022 to assess the benefits of yoga in supporting people suffering from Long Covid.

Based in London, she teaches yoga to people from many different walks of life, including school children, the Metropolitan police and other yoga teachers, both in the UK and abroad.

Lorraine’s teaching manner is warm and inspiring. Her instruction is the culmination of 37 years experience, she is detailed and precise whilst being positive and patient at all times. Lorraine has studied with BKS Iyengar and his family, both in England and India. She finds the Iyengars’ approach to yoga unequalled in its depth, refinement and subtlety.
